Vasiliki Papaefthymiou is a Researcher at the Institute of Chemistry and Processes for Energy, Environment and Health (ICPEES) at the University of Strasbourg. Her work focuses on surface science techniques and materials analysis, with a specialization in ultra-high vacuum environments and advanced spectroscopic methods.
Education:
- Doctoral Thesis in Chemical Engineering, University of Patras (2002-2005)
- Master 2 in Materials Science and Technology, University of Patras (2000-2002)
- Bachelor of Chemistry, University of Patras (1991-1996)
Research Interests include the physico-chemistry of solid surfaces, characterization using surface science techniques, and studies on organic materials (e.g., oligomers, self-assembled monolayers, graphene), solid oxide fuel cells, realistic model catalysts, nanoalloys, and gas-surface interactions. Her technical expertise spans XPS, UPS, ISS, NAP-XPS, NEXAFS, and synchrotron radiation techniques.
Key contributions involve advancing surface analysis methodologies and mentoring Masters/Doctorate students. She serves as a Radiation Protection Advisor (CRP) and ICPEES communications correspondent, working in the ECPM building (Strasbourg, France).
