Eric Pollet is a Lecturer at the European School of Chemistry, Polymers and Materials (ECPM), University of Strasbourg, and conducts research at the Institute of Chemistry and Processes for Energy, the Environment and Health (ICPEES), a CNRS UMR 7515 laboratory. He is a member of the Bio-sourced and/or biodegradable polymers for the environment and health team (BioTeam), focusing on sustainable polymer development.
Education:
- HDR (Habilitation), University of Strasbourg, 2017
- Ph.D. in Chemistry (Process Engineering), Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University, 2001
- DEA in Catalysis and Physico-Chemistry of Interfaces, Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University, 1998
- Post-doctorate, SMPC, University of Mons, Belgium, 2001–2004
His research interests include biosourced and biodegradable polymers, nanocomposites, hybrid materials, and enzymatic catalysis, with applications in green and white chemistry. He specializes in the physical chemistry of polymers, synthesis and characterization of sustainable polymers, and biocomposite materials.
His recent publications highlight a strong trend in sustainable polymer science, particularly in starch-based nanobiocomposites, biodegradable polyesters with nanoclays, and microbial production of PHAs from waste substrates. These works reflect a consistent focus on environmentally friendly materials with tunable thermal, mechanical, and barrier properties.
He teaches courses in sustainable development, green chemistry, catalytic polymerizations, and polymer characterization, and serves as Internship Manager at ECPM.
