V.V. Chari is the Paul Frenzel Land Grant Professor of Liberal Arts in the Department of Economics at the University of Minnesota and an adviser at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He was the founding director of the Heller-Hurwicz Economics Institute. His research focuses on banking, fiscal and monetary policy, and economic development.
