V. V. Chari is the Paul W. Frenzel Land Grant Professor of Liberal Arts and Professor of Economics at the University of Minnesota, where he founded the Heller-Hurwicz Economics Institute. His research addresses banking stability, fiscal/monetary policy interactions, and development economics. Former roles include economic advisor at Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and professorship at Northwestern University.
