Vangel Nonevski

Dr. Vangel Nonevski is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, and a Visiting Professor of Aesthetics at the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje. He earned his doctorate in 2012 with a dissertation on 'The Philosophical Foundations of Digital Aesthetics' and has been active in academia since. His research traverses culture and remix studies, aesthetics of interactive arts, modern art and semiology, and contemporary architecture theory.

His publications include three books—Music Bricolage (2003), The Gramophone as a Meta-Instrument (2014), and Cyborg Aesthetics (2018)—and numerous articles on topics like cyberpunk philosophy, remix culture, and prosthetic art. He has translated six books and written columns for Macedonian media (2008–2011). As founder of NGO AXIOMA, he organizes contemporary arts projects and publications. He speaks English and Serbo-Croatian.

His 15 most recent publications (2012–2019) explore remix culture, digital aesthetics, cyberpunk philosophy, and the intersection of technology with art and society. Key themes include the deconstruction of cultural norms, interactivity in art, and the role of sampling in creative practices.

His teaching includes courses in Aesthetics, Philosophy of Culture, and Philosophical Anthropology. He has participated in numerous conferences and symposia across domestic, regional, and international venues.
