V. Elizabeth Turk

V. Elizabeth Turk is a Professor of Photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2006, with a distinguished career in visual arts and education. Her work focuses on alternative photographic processes, Southern culture, and documentary art.

• Education: M.V.A. in Art from Georgia State University, B.S. in General Studies from Louisiana State University.

Her research explores intersections of historical and contemporary photographic techniques, regional identity, and artistic pedagogy. Turk has contributed to influential publications like The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes and curated projects examining Southern architecture and aesthetics.

Recent publications highlight her expertise in alternative processes, cultural documentation, and art education. Turk's work has been recognized through grants from the Georgia Council for the Arts, Fulton County Arts Council, and the Alliance of Independent Colleges of Art.
