Rebecca Nolan

Rebecca Nolan is a Professor in the Photography Department at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where she also serves as the graduate student coordinator and mentor. She holds an M.F.A. in Visual Design from the University of Oregon and a B.A. in Communication Processes from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Her academic career includes adjunct positions at Washington University, Webster University, Maryville University, St. Louis Community College, and St. Charles County Community College, along with roles as Lecturer at Washington University and Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky.

Her research focuses on photography techniques, visual storytelling, and exhibition practices, with specific interests in alternative processes and creative manipulation. Nolan has exhibited widely, including solo shows like The Dixie Overland Highway and American Byways, and group exhibitions at venues such as the Brauer Museum of Art and FAB Gallery.

She has received numerous honors, including the Southeast Regional Honored Educator award from the Society for Photographic Education and multiple graduate fellowships. Nolan is an active member of professional organizations, including the College Arts Association and LightWork Syracuse.
