Lynn Wright

Lynn Wright is a Professor of Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), serving since October 1997. She holds an M.F.A. in Photography from SCAD and a B.F.A. in Art from the University of Alabama. Her role involves teaching introductory and advanced photography courses, developing curricula, and mentoring students through thesis committees. She has also contributed to SCAD’s admission processes by setting prerequisites for photography programs.

Her professional background includes photojournalism roles at The Decatur Daily and The University of Alabama, where she covered news events and campus life. As a staff photographer for the Centennial Olympic Games (1996–2006), she managed press operations. Earlier, she served as Assistant Professor and Director of Werhle Art Gallery at Ohio Dominican College (1994–1997).

Wright’s research and creative work focus on themes such as Southern landscapes, gender representation in photography, and the intersection of technology and art education.
