معرفی
Urs Albrecht is a Professor at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Medicine, University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of circadian clocks, particularly the roles of Period (Per) and Cryptochrome (Cry) genes in regulating circadian rhythmicity, mood-related behavior, metabolic adaptation, and sleep-wake cycles. He has led multiple funded projects, including studies on environmental entrainment of clocks, clock-gene interactions, and metabolic phenotyping platforms.
Research Highlights:
- Elucidation of CDK5 and REV-ERBα roles in circadian regulation
- Investigations into Per gene mutations and mood disorders
- Development of mouse models for circadian-metabolic crosstalk
- Coordinated European EUCLOCK consortium research
Grants & Projects:
- Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) grants for circadian adaptation studies (2010–2013, 2016–2019)
- Co-applicant for metabolic phenotyping platform acquisition (2021–2022)
- Collaborative research on clock synchronization mechanisms
