Ultan Sherman

Dr. Ultan Sherman is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management & Organisational Behaviour at the Cork University Business School, University College Cork. He serves as Programme Director for the MSc in Human Resource Management and teaches across BComm, MSc HRM, MA WOP, and MBA programmes.

His research explores the intersection of

• work psychology
• psychological contract theory
• gig economy dynamics
• human resource management

with publications in leading journals like Human Resource Management Journal and European Journal of Work & Organizational Psychology.

Notable awards include the

• 2020 HRMJ Best Paper Award
• 2015 Journal's Outstanding Paper Award

for his contributions to employment relations research.

He holds a PhD in Work Psychology (University of Limerick, 2012) and has previously held roles at Maynooth University (Lecturer in Management, 2012-2014) and Dublin City University (Post-Doctoral Researcher, 2012).
