Ulrich Eisel

Ulrich Eisel is a Professor at the University of Groningen, Faculty of Science and Engineering, leading the Eisel Lab focused on Molecular Neurobiology and Neuroimmunology. His research investigates the role of TNF receptors in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, emphasizing translational therapies. He holds roles as course coordinator for Neuroscience Research and Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience, and lectures on Neurobiology and Aging.

Education: PhD from Justus-Liebig-University Giessen and Tübingen (Germany), postdoctoral training at the NIH. His work integrates behavioral biology with neuroimmunology, exploring inflammatory pathways in disease progression.

He serves on scientific advisory boards for BRAINS and Alzheimer Nederland, and chairs the BCN program committee. Research highlights include TNFR2 agonist therapies for Alzheimer’s and remyelination studies in MS models.
