Ulla Janson is a Senior Lecturer at Lund University's Faculty of Engineering (LTH), serving as Coordinator of the LTH Profile Area: Circular Building Sector. Her research focuses on enabling a sustainable construction industry through studies on energy use, life cycle analyses, waste reduction, and circularity. Key projects include energy-sharing networks between buildings, urban planning to minimize demolition, and energy-efficient renovations of culturally significant structures.
She coordinates LTH's Circular Building Sector initiative, participates in Malmö's climate neutrality committee (LFM30), and leads multiple research projects such as the EU-funded ASSURE and the Swedish Energy Agency's Energy Resilient Cities program. Supervised research includes a project on reducing water damage in buildings with student Mattsson, C.
Active in academic outreach, she organizes workshops on circularity challenges, participates in Nordic sustainable construction forums, and delivers invited talks on sustainable architecture and policy. Her work aligns with UN SDGs 9 (Industry, Innovation), 11 (Sustainable Cities), 12 (Responsible Consumption), and 13 (Climate Action).
