Tulay Atak is a Lecturer, architect, and architectural historian whose work interrogates modern urbanism in a global context. She has taught at prominent institutions such as SCI-Arc, Cornell University, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and Pratt Institute.

Her research bridges architectural historiography, critical theory, and museology, with a focus on displacements of modernism in Istanbul and colonial contexts. She conducted fieldwork in Chandigarh (India) as part of the Getty Research Institute's project on Museology and the Colony, and collaborated with ETH Zurich to archive the work of structural engineer Heinz Isler.
Her scholarly contributions appear in journals such as Future Anterior, PMLA, JAE, and JSAH, and she has curated exhibitions at Cornell University and the Boston Society of Architects (BSA).
