Trudi Lang is an Associate Professor in Management Practice at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. She serves as Director of the Oxford Scenarios Programme and Co-Director of the Oxford-Hyundai Motor Group Foresight Centre. Prior to this, she held roles at the World Economic Forum and OECD in Strategic Foresight. She holds a PhD (DPhil) in Management Studies from the University of Oxford and is a member of the Strategic Management Society and Academy of Management.
Trudi earned her PhD (DPhil) in Management Studies from the University of Oxford.
Her research focuses on strategic reframing and strategy development to help senior executives navigate turbulent contexts. Central themes include scenarios and foresight informing strategy, the interplay of organizational identity and strategy, and collaborative strategy building social capital. This work emphasizes tools like scenario planning and integrating identity into long-term strategy.
Her publications explore strategic execution challenges, scenario planning methodologies, and foresight applications. Recent works analyze ghost scenarios’ impact on execution and organizational identity-strategy alignment, appearing in MIT Sloan Management Review and Harvard Business Review.
Trudi leads executive education programs such as the Oxford Scenarios Programme and collaborates on custom programs globally. She directs the Oxford Collaborative Strategy Lab and actively contributes to strategic foresight initiatives like the Oxford-Hyundai Foresight Centre.
