Jon Cowell is an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and currently serves as Chair at Edgecumbe Consulting Group. His academic role involves teaching leadership and organizational effectiveness to executives through various programmes and initiatives. He has over 30 years of experience in leadership assessment, development, and organizational change, combining psychological insights with business strategy.
Jon’s professional journey includes roles as a stockbroker, investment analyst, and Head of Learning & Development at a major UK energy company. He joined Edgecumbe in 2008 and became its Chief Executive in 2016 before transitioning to Chair in 2023. His contributions to executive education span institutions like the Executive MBA, the Saudi Oxford Programme for Educational Leaders, and bespoke programmes for firms such as Centrica and Deloitte.
His research focuses on enhancing leadership effectiveness to boost organizational performance and create sustainable workplaces. This is exemplified in his co-authored book, *Leadership: No More Heroes*, which critiques traditional leadership models and advocates for more adaptive approaches. His work bridges leadership theory with practical applications, emphasizing employee well-being and change management.
Jon has been actively involved in advising leadership teams and designing learning strategies for major projects, such as the Major Projects Leadership Academy and the EU Exit Leaders’ Programme.
