Trevor Clark is a Senior Lecturer in International Finance Law at the Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London, and Pathway Leader for the LLM in International Finance Law. Previously, he held academic roles at the University of Leeds and University College London (UCL), and was a partner at Linklaters specializing in international finance law across London, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He is an Articles Editor for Legal Ethics and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Education: PhD in Law from UCL (2018-2023), focusing on legal aspects of leveraged buyouts.
Research interests center on international finance law, corporate transactions, legal ethics, and the role of law firms in financial sectors. His work critiques ambiguity in leveraged finance contracts, explores ethical challenges in big law firms, and analyzes regulatory dynamics in private equity and banking.
Publications reflect expertise in legal ethics, financial regulation, and corporate governance, with recent focus on designation practices in leveraged finance and conflicts of interest in European restructuring. He has contributed to public debates via interviews with the FCA, IOSCO, and media outlets like Bloomberg and Financial Times.
