Ci Ren is a PhD candidate in International Financial Law at King's College London (KCL), where she also serves as a Research Associate in the Dickson Poon School of Law. She concurrently holds a Lecturer position at Queen Mary University of London, teaching LLB courses on Company Law and Corporate Governance. Additionally, she works as a Senior Consultant at Asia Capital Group Ltd. Her PhD thesis focuses on Director and Officer liability insurance across common law jurisdictions and China, supervised by Dr. Lerong Lu and Professor Ozlem Gurses.
Her research interests span International Financial Law, Company Law, Insurance Law, and Fintech, with a focus on regulatory frameworks and cross-jurisdictional legal comparisons. Recent work emphasizes China’s potential learning from Western financial safety net mechanisms, SPAC regulatory innovations, and comparative corporate governance principles.
Notable publications include a trilogy analyzing cross-jurisdictional financial regulation, comparative studies on SPAC frameworks, and explorations of Chinese securities law reforms. Her work bridges legal theory with practical regulatory challenges in global financial markets.
Ci Ren’s academic roles include advising on corporate law matters and contributing to policy discussions on financial stability. She is based at the Dickson Poon School of Law, where her research is integrated with teaching and industry engagement through her consultancy role.
