Honorary Associate Professor Treasure McGuire holds a senior conjoint appointment between the School of Pharmacy at the University of Queensland and Mater Pharmacy, Mater Health in Brisbane, where she serves as Assistant Director of Pharmacy (Practice and Development). With over 25 years of continuous service since 1996, she was appointed Senior Lecturer at UQ in 2006 and coordinates the graduate clinical pharmacy course within the Master of Clinical Pharmacy program.
Her research program focuses on translational work in patient-centered care and quality use of medicines, specifically examining medicines information systems, evidence-based practice implementation, medication safety protocols, reproductive health pharmacotherapy, complementary medicines evaluation, communicable disease management, and interprofessional education models. Her work bridges clinical practice and academic research through the medicines call center data analysis that informs real-world medication use patterns.
Professor McGuire's scholarly output demonstrates consistent productivity across multiple domains, with significant contributions to understanding consumer medication concerns, particularly regarding antidepressants, antibiotics, reproductive health medications, and complementary medicines. Her research shows particular strength in analyzing medicines information center data to identify knowledge gaps and safety concerns.
