Treasure McGuire is an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland, specializing in clinical pharmacy, evidence-based medicine, and medication safety. Her research focuses on improving the quality use of medicines (QUM) through translational research in antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety, and public health. She collaborates with institutions like Mater Health, Bond University, and the University of Queensland’s School of Medicine and School of Pharmacy.
Education: She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (1975) and Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology (1983), both from the University of Queensland. Her advanced qualifications include a PhD in Consumer Medicines Information (2005), a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (2013), and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (2015).
Research Interests: Her work spans medication safety, pharmacovigilance, antimicrobial stewardship, and interprofessional education. She leads studies on consumer health behaviors, including information-seeking patterns related to medicines during pregnancy and menopause. Notable projects include a $39,263 grant on antimicrobial stewardship in primary care.
