Travis Bennett is a Professor at Western Carolina University's School of Music within the David Orr Belcher College of Fine and Performing Arts. He joined the faculty in 2006, teaching horn, conducting the Horn Choir, and coaching chamber music ensembles.

Bennett is an active chamber and orchestral musician, performing regularly with the Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet and the Asheville Symphony. He has toured internationally in Argentina, China, Germany, the Czech Republic, Jamaica, Hungary, Romania, Mexico, and South Africa. As Area Representative of North Carolina for the International Horn Society, he hosted the Southeast Horn Workshop in 2009 and 2019.
His academic leadership roles include serving as Assistant Dean of the College of Fine and Performing Arts (2022-2024) and Co-Director of the School of Music (2016-2017).
