معرفی
Tracy Robyn Slatyer is a tenured Professor of Particle Physics and Theoretical Astrophysics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), School of Science, Department of Physics. Her research focuses on uncovering signatures of dark matter interactions and exploring high-energy astrophysical phenomena, particularly the discovery and analysis of the Fermi bubbles.
- Born in Solomon Islands, raised in Australia and Fiji
- Educated at Narrabundah College (Australia), Australian National University (BSc in Theoretical Physics, 2005), and Harvard University (PhD in Physics, 2010)
Research Interests: Dr. Slatyer's work bridges particle physics and astrophysics through theoretical studies of dark matter, gamma-ray emissions from the Milky Way, and anomalies in cosmic ray data. She investigates indirect dark matter detection signatures and contributes to high-energy astrophysics discoveries.
Scientific Awards:
- New Horizons in Physics Prize (2021)
- Rossi Prize (2014) for Fermi bubbles discovery
- Henry Primakoff Award (2017)
- Presidential Early Career Award (2019)
After postdoctoral work at the Institute for Advanced Study (2010-2013), she joined MIT's faculty, achieving tenure in 2019. Her contributions combine innovative theoretical modeling with observational astrophysics challenges.
