Tracy Doyle is a Professor of Flute and Director of the School of Music at the University of Puget Sound. Her roles emphasize advocacy, equity, and community engagement in music education. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Flute Performance from Louisiana State University (2005), a Master of Music (1998), and a Bachelor of Music (1994), both in Music Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Her research and creative work center on holistic music education, linking performance with pedagogy. As a flutist, she collaborates with the Japanese-American Apricity Trio (flute, clarinet, percussion), performing across the U.S. and Japan. She also performs with Symphony Tacoma, Lake Washington Symphony Orchestra, and Vashon Opera, while actively engaging with the National Flute Association Convention.
Tracy’s community initiatives include outreach through the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association and interdisciplinary projects with visual artists and composers. Her teaching spans K-12 to university levels, reflecting a commitment to inclusive arts education.
