Li-Ling Liao is an Adjunct Professor in the Music Department at Saint Martin's University (Main Campus, Lacey). She holds a Doctoral degree in Violin Performance from the University of Maryland, preceded by studies at the Lucerne Conservatory (Switzerland), Boston Conservatory, and New England Conservatory under renowned pedagogues including Daniel Dodds, Lynn Chang, James Buswell IV, and Eric Rosenblith.
Active in professional orchestral performance, she currently serves as second violin principal of the Northwest Symphony Orchestra and is a core member of Symphony Tacoma. She regularly performs with major ensembles in the Pacific Northwest including the Vancouver Symphony, Vashon Opera Orchestra, Tacoma City Ballet Orchestra, Auburn Symphony, and Northwest Sinfonietta.
