Dr. Tong'en Lin is an Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellow at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN), The University of Queensland. He holds a Master of Chemical Engineering (Coursework) and a PhD from UQ. His research focuses on energy storage materials, photovoltaic technologies, and electrochemical systems. Key areas include solar cell efficiency optimization, nanomaterials synthesis, and the development of novel battery technologies such as zinc-ion, lithium-sulfur, and aluminum organic batteries.
Dr. Lin's work integrates advanced materials engineering, coordination chemistry, and defect engineering to enhance energy conversion and storage systems. His publications highlight innovations in perovskite solar cells, quantum dot-based photovoltaics, and nanostructured electrocatalysts. He is currently leading a grant-funded project on fast-chargeable graphite materials for lithium-ion batteries (2025–2027) and previously developed strategies for sodium-ion battery optimization (2024).
He is available for PhD supervision, currently co-advising a student on Li-excess cathode materials. His research also emphasizes interdisciplinary collaborations in renewable energy systems and sustainable materials design.
