Dr. Ruopian Fang is a researcher in the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), specializing in energy storage materials for advanced batteries. Her work focuses on developing high-energy-density lithium-sulfur and lithium-metal batteries through innovations in cathode and anode materials, emphasizing the interplay of electrochemistry, material science, and battery performance.
Her research interests include electrocatalysis, nanomaterials, and battery interfaces. Notably, she has pioneered functional materials to enhance sulfur conversion reactions and mitigate polysulfide shuttling in lithium-sulfur batteries. Key contributions include heterostructured nanocatalysts, doped oxide cathodes, and solid-state electrolytes.
Publications from 2021–2025 highlight her exploration of novel materials for improved energy density, thermal stability, and cycle life across lithium-ion, lithium-sulfur, and sodium-metal batteries. Her work bridges fundamental science with practical applications, addressing challenges in high-capacity electrode design and interfacial chemistry.
Dr. Fang’s research is supported by collaborative efforts in electrochemical engineering and nanotechnology, with implications for next-generation energy storage systems.
