
Tomislav Karačić

Tomislav Karačić is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), affiliated with the Information Systems and Innovation Research Group and LSE’s Data Science Institute. His research focuses on artificial intelligence’s impact on knowledge work, collaboration between developers and domain experts, and organizational data practices. He holds a PhD from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), a master’s in Logic from the University of Amsterdam, and bachelor’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Philosophy from the University of Zagreb.
His academic journey includes a visiting scholar position at McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management (2023) and extensive research collaborations in AI development within biotechnology and agriculture. He has been awarded grants such as the 2023 Prins Bernhard Cultuurfund grant and the ABRI Research grant for his work on AI’s societal implications.
Karačić’s teaching spans digital innovation, virtual organizing, and new ways of working, with high student evaluations emphasizing his clarity and enthusiasm. He actively contributes to academic service roles, including organizing conferences, workshops, and research groups focused on digital society and human-AI collaboration.
