Dr Tinghe Jin is an Assistant Professor in International and Comparative Education at Durham University's School of Education. Previously, she held a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship and was a Lecturer at the University of East Anglia. Her research focuses on intercultural education, language pedagogy (particularly Mandarin), teacher development, and the intersection of education with health and wellbeing. She leads the British Academy-funded project on adolescent wellbeing during the pandemic and co-edits interdisciplinary works on Chinese education. She founded the Chinese Educational Research Association in the UK and serves on editorial boards of journals like International Journal of Bias, Identity and Diversities in Education.
Dr Jin's education includes a PhD from UCL Institute of Education as a Centenary Scholar. Her work bridges history, education, and international development, with recent projects analyzing British university engagement with Chinese language studies and digital university experiences in BRI countries. She has secured grants totaling over £500k from the British Academy and British Council.
