Cong Xia Li is an Associate Professor in Chinese and Language Lead for Chinese and Russian at the University of Reading's Department of Languages and Cultures. She also serves as the Technology Enhanced Learning for Languages (TELL) Officer and teaches Mandarin Chinese modules ranging from beginner to advanced levels.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on developing Intercultural Communicative Competence through Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), with emphasis on differentiation strategies for mixed classrooms of Chinese heritage and L2 learners. She explores technology-enhanced pedagogy and the intersection of language teaching with post-1949 Chinese history and contemporary literature.
