Dr. Tinghe Jin is an Assistant Professor in International and Comparative Education at Durham University's School of Education. Previously, she held a Lecturer position at the University of East Anglia (2019) and earned a PhD as a Centenary Scholar at UCL Institute of Education. Her research focuses on intercultural education, teacher professional development, and the intersection of language pedagogy with cultural identity. She has led major projects including a British Academy-funded study on Chinese adolescent well-being during the pandemic (2021) and a UK-China-BRI initiative on digital education (2020).
Her expertise spans qualitative research methods, interdisciplinary education studies, and the history of Chinese language education in British universities. She is the founding president of the Chinese Educational Research Association (UK) and serves on editorial boards for journals like International Journal of Bias, Identity and Diversities in Education.
Key achievements include a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship (2017) and co-editing books such as Interculturality in Chinese Language Education. Her recent work addresses global educational challenges, including online learning equity and intercultural communication barriers faced by students abroad.
