Dr. Tina Popa is a Senior Lecturer in Law at RMIT University's School of Law, specializing in medical negligence, no-fault compensation systems, psychiatric harm, and non-adversarial justice. She holds a PhD and postgraduate qualifications in psychology, focusing on the intersection of law, psychology, and legal profession wellbeing. Her research explores litigation, mediation, and mental harm claims, with an emphasis on improving legal processes and practitioner wellbeing.
Teaching interests include Tort Law and Health Law, where she has innovated blended learning designs recognized through prestigious awards, including the 2023 Vice-Chancellor’s Teaching Citation. She collaborates with industry, advising on legal issues and contributing to projects like vaccine injury compensation frameworks.
Research highlights include studies on climate litigation, procedural justice in tribunals, and wellbeing among personal injury lawyers. Her work has been published in top journals such as the University of New South Wales Law Journal and Psychiatry, Psychology and Law.
