Jenn Lay is a Lecturer at La Trobe University's Law Melbourne department. She holds dual Bachelor degrees in Arts and Commerce from Deakin University (2009-2012) and a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) from Monash University (2012-2016). Her professional practice focuses on workers' compensation, motor vehicle accident claims, and public/product liability litigation through Arnold Thomas Becker Lawyers. She also serves as a Casual Supervising Lawyer at the Leo Cussen Centre for Law's Civil Disputes Rotation program.
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating LEGAL PRACTICE AND CONDUCT AND CLINICAL PLACEMENT (LAW4LPP), LEGAL INTERNSHIP (LAW4INT/LAW5INT), and FOUNDATIONS OF COMPANY AND COMMERCIAL LAW (LST4001). Recent research includes a 2024 collaborative project with Mind Australia reviewing anti-ligature measures and peer suicide prevention strategies.
Her practice areas emphasize statutory benefits litigation and negligence claims, with teaching specialization in legal ethics and professional conduct. Current collaborations include clinical legal education programs and industry-focused legal training initiatives.
