Tina Laughlin serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Music Education at DePaul University's School of Music, where she teaches Percussion for Music Education courses, training future educators in percussion pedagogy and performance techniques.
Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Music (BM) and Master of Music (MM), both earned in percussion performance from DePaul University.
Ms. Laughlin specializes in contemporary and new music performance, actively participating in DePaul's New Music concert series and with the Contemporary Chamber Players. Her artistic vision emphasizes interdisciplinary fusion, notably through Fulcrum Point—a chamber ensemble dedicated to programs integrating Jazz, Latin, Rock, Literature, Film, and Theater—and as co-founder of Chicago Chamber Works, which champions innovative repertoire.
Professionally, she brings eight years of experience with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, performing under legendary conductors including Daniel Barenboim and Sir Georg Solti. As a freelance artist, she regularly performs with the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra, Grant Park Orchestra, Chicago Sinfonietta, and Elgin Symphony, demonstrating exceptional versatility across orchestral and experimental settings.
