John Sharp is a Professor of Cello at Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts, where he teaches in the strings program. He holds the distinction of being one of the youngest principal cellists in Chicago Symphony Orchestra history, having performed under legendary conductors including Sir Georg Solti, Daniel Barenboim, and Riccardo Muti. His performance career spans solo appearances with major orchestras, chamber music collaborations with artists like Yo-Yo Ma and Mitsuko Uchida, and international duo performances with violinist Liba Shacht.
