Timothy Stoll is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Warwick, UK. His research focuses on post-Kantian German thought, particularly Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Schiller, and German Romanticism. He is currently working on a book project analyzing Nietzsche’s *The Birth of Tragedy* and co-edited *The Schopenhauerian Mind* (Routledge, 2023) with David Bather Woods. His work explores intersections between aesthetics, philosophy of science, and ethical theory within 19th-century German philosophy. Stoll teaches courses on Kant, Nietzsche, and broader themes in German philosophy. His recent publications analyze aesthetic concepts like semblance and tragedy’s role in autonomy, as well as Schopenhauer’s scientific theories and Nietzsche’s engagement with scientific knowledge debates.
Stoll’s research demonstrates a deep engagement with historical philosophical texts and their implications for contemporary debates. His articles frequently appear in journals like *Journal of the History of Philosophy* and *British Journal of Aesthetics*. He is also actively involved in editing projects that contextualize Schopenhauer’s influence on later thinkers. His office is located in S2.35 (Social Sciences) at the University of Warwick.
