Judith Norman is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Trinity University. She specializes in Continental Philosophy, focusing on the works of Arthur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Nietzsche, with particular emphasis on feminist interpretations and the metaphysics of subjectivity.
Her research explores how historical philosophers universalize subjectivity, often marginalizing perspectives outside dominant paradigms. Recent work includes feminist critiques of Schopenhauer's metaphysics of sexual love and comparative analyses of Nietzsche's and Marx's views on history and morality.
Norman has contributed to edited volumes such as Schopenhauer's The World as Will and Representation: A Critical Guide (Cambridge University Press, 2022), demonstrating her expertise in post-Kantian European philosophy and its contemporary relevance.
