Jack Wearing is a Departmental Lecturer in Post-Kantian Philosophy at Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford, where he has worked since 2023. His research focuses on normative conceptions of the human within Kantian and Post-Kantian traditions of ethical and political thought, with additional interests in Critical Theory and Kant's aesthetics. He teaches Prelims General Philosophy and Moral Philosophy, offering tutorials on Aesthetics, Kant's philosophy, Post-Kantian thinkers (Hegel, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Sartre), and Feminist Theory.
Wearing's recent publications explore intersections of ontology and politics, including analyses of Heidegger's metaphysical anthropology and Judith Butler's theories of interdependency. His work contributes to debates in ethical philosophy, political theory, and continental thought.
He previously served as a Teaching Associate at the University of Cambridge (2022-23) and earned his DPhil and MPhil in Philosophy from the University of Oxford (2018-22) and University of Cambridge (2016-17), respectively. He completed his BA in Philosophy at the University of Cambridge (2013-16).
