David Bather Woods is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Warwick. His research focuses on 19th-century German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, particularly his philosophical pessimism, moral and political philosophy, and aesthetics. He is the author of Arthur Schopenhauer: The Life and Thought of Philosophy's Greatest Pessimist (forthcoming 2025) and co-editor of The Schopenhauerian Mind (2023). His teaching includes modules on the Philosophy of Evil and Schopenhauer’s thought.
