Timos Karpouzoglou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Thematic Studies (Technology and Social Change, TEMAT) at Linköping University. His research focuses on socio-technical dimensions of urban water infrastructure, emphasizing sustainability transitions and the interplay of societal, technological, and cultural factors. He leads major projects such as ImagineAction (climate adaptation in Swedish water sectors) and PeriNature (peri-urban water-nature dynamics).
Education:

Research Interests: Combines Science and Technology Studies (STS) with historical and human geography perspectives. Focuses on water infrastructure governance, climate adaptation, and equity in urban systems. Advocates for interdisciplinary approaches merging theoretical insights with on-the-ground practices in diverse global contexts.
Teaching: Leads courses in Strategic Urban Planning, Sustainable Information Society, and Urban Sustainability. Involves over 10 courses at undergraduate and advanced levels, emphasizing critical perspectives in planning and technology.
Grants & Projects: Secured over 14 MSEK in funding for projects like NATURE (nature-society relations through infrastructure) and WaterFlow (conflicts/cooperation in Asian/African water regimes). Collaborates with engineers, artists, and policymakers to bridge theory and practice.
Labs & Networks: Co-leads STRIPE (Socio-technical research of infrastructures), part of TEMAT's interdisciplinary environment. Engages in global collaborations through networks like the Stockholm Resilience Centre and KTH.
