Tim Lindsey is the Malcolm Smith Professor of Asian Law and Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor at the University of Melbourne's Law School, where he directs the Centre for Indonesian Law, Islam and Society. His expertise spans Indonesian public law, criminal law, commercial law, and sharia law in Southeast Asia.
Lindsey has advised governments, courts, and international organizations on legal reform in Indonesia and Australia. His extensive publications include analyses of Islamic legal systems, constitutional development, and human rights. As former Chair of the Australia Indonesia Institute, he maintains significant policy influence in regional legal frameworks.
