Thomas Schneider, PhD, is an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics at the University of Dallas. His academic work focuses on American political thought, constitutional law, and political philosophy. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Boston College, an MA from the Graduate Institute in Liberal Education at St. John's College, and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Washington.
Recent courses taught include Principles of American Politics, Civil Liberties, Constitutional Law, and The Presidency. His research emphasizes foundational political principles, as seen in his 2021 article Happiness and the Constitution and his review of Forrest Nabors' work on Reconstruction-era politics.
Dr. Schneider's teaching and scholarship bridge historical constitutional interpretation with contemporary political theory. His office is located in Braniff Graduate Building #206, with office hours MW 1:00-2:30 PM.
