Thomas Moretti is an Associate Professor of English at Iona University, specializing in early modern English literature, religion, politics, and ethics. He teaches courses in composition, literature surveys, Shakespeare, and early modern drama, with a focus on intellectual stimulation, personal development, and community engagement.
His research explores intersections of religious conflict and gender performance in early modern drama, as well as temporal experiences in Shakespeare’s works and religious negotiation in Renaissance plays. He integrates ethics and cultural inclusivity into his literary analysis.
Recent publications include academic articles on Shakespearean drama, Dekker and Massinger’s The Virgin Martyr, and John Webster’s The White Devil, alongside creative writing contributions like the poem Hydrangea. Research trends emphasize ethical frameworks, religious dialogue, and performative identity in Renaissance literature.
