معرفی
Dr. Thomas Klonisch is a Professor in the Department of Human Anatomy and Cell Science at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. His research focuses on developing novel therapies for adult brain tumors, overcoming blood-brain barrier challenges, and reprogramming immune cells to combat cancer. He leads a team conducting translational research on tumor progression mechanisms and therapy resistance.
Education:
- MD and PhD, University of Giessen (Germany, 1991)
- Postdoctoral fellowships at Ontario Veterinary College and University College London
- Habilitation certification in Anatomy (2000)
Research Interests: Molecular determinants of glioma progression, therapy resistance pathways, ABL kinase inhibitors, immune modulation in brain tumors, and tumor microenvironment dynamics. His lab collects patient-derived tumor cells for personalized research and explores nanotherapeutics.
Affiliations: Adjunct Scientist at Research Institute of Cancer and Hematology (RIOH), CancerCare Manitoba; Member of Terry Fox Research Institute (TFRI) and Prairie Cancer Research Consortium.
Awards: Feodor-Lynen Fellowship (1991-1992).
