Thomas Bass

Thomas Bass is a Professor of Mathematics and Chair of the Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science department at Carson-Newman University. He joined the faculty in 1995 and currently oversees the Mathematics Program. His professional roles include serving as faculty advisor for Appalachian, the university annual, and previously held that position.

Dr. Bass holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and an undergraduate degree in Christianity and Mathematics from Mercer University. His professional affiliations include membership on the executive committee of the Tennessee Mathematics Teachers’ Association.

Outside academia, he actively participates in Jefferson City’s First Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, adult choir member, and handbell choir member.
