Dr. Thanh-Thuy Nguyen is a Senior Lecturer at RMIT University's School of Accounting, Information Systems & Supply Chains and serves as Deputy Director of the RMIT Business and Human Rights Centre. She holds a Doctor of Science from Kobe University (Japan) obtained in 2009 and has built an international academic career spanning Australia, Belgium, USA, France, South Korea, Sweden, and Vietnam.
Her educational background includes a Doctor of Science from Kobe University. Her academic journey has included positions at the University of Liege (Belgium), California State University (USA), Center of Transportation Research (France), and Vietnam Maritime University, in addition to her current role at RMIT.
Dr. Nguyen's research focuses on sustainability of logistics and supply chains, information sharing and digital technologies in supply chains, maritime supply chains, human resource management in supply chains, and business ethics and human rights in supply chains. Her work addresses critical issues in global supply chain resilience, particularly examining labor issues in maritime transport and implementing digital solutions for improved supply chain transparency. She has made significant contributions to understanding circular economy adoption in tourism and blockchain implementation in food supply chains.
Her recent scholarly work demonstrates a clear trajectory toward integrating sustainability principles with technological innovation in supply chain management, with particular emphasis on the Asian context and developing economies. Her publications reveal growing interest in ethical considerations within global supply networks and the implementation challenges of sustainable practices.
Dr. Nguyen has secured approximately US$3 million in research funding from prestigious organizations including the World Bank, JICA, UNDP Vietnam, the Vietnam government, and EU Commission Funds. She actively supervises Masters and PhD students, with current projects focusing on circular economy adoption, sustainable supply chain management in food sectors, corporate social responsibility in Vietnam's textile industry, and blockchain implementation.
She has held significant leadership roles including Deputy Director of the RMIT Business and Human Rights Centre, Manager of Research Office at RMIT Vietnam, and Dean at Vietnam Maritime University's International School of Maritime Education. Her professional experience extends beyond academia to include serving as Regional Manager of Supply Chain and Distribution at V&A Liangos and as Founder and Director of the Japan-Mekong Logistics Training Center.
