Teun Schrieks is a Researcher at the Department of Environmental Economics within the Faculty of Science at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). He holds a Postdoctoral Researcher role, focusing on transformative climate resilience and drought adaptation strategies in East Africa. Previously, he completed his PhD at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) on drought adaptation decisions among pastoralists in Kenya. His work bridges behavioral economics and environmental policy, emphasizing citizen and business preferences for climate adaptation solutions.
Education:
- MSc in Multidisciplinary Economics (Research Master), Utrecht University (2019)
- BSc in Economics and Business Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam (2017)
Research Interests: Behavioral economics, climate change adaptation, drought risk management, and nature-based solutions. His current project (ARCADIA) investigates European stakeholders' preferences for nature-based climate solutions, while past work (DOWN2EARTH) examined drought adaptation in Kenya through household surveys and experiments.
