Hans de Moel is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His work focuses on natural hazard risk management, climate change adaptation, and hydrological modelling. He holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from VU Amsterdam and has taught in BSc and MSc programs, including coordinating the Hydrology MSc program. His research integrates physical hazard models with socio-economic analysis to evaluate adaptation strategies, climate impacts, and uncertainties.
