Teija Kujala is a Professor of Psychology at the Department of Psychology and Logopedics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki. She holds a Docent title in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Helsinki (2002) and has held leadership roles including Shared Directorship of the Cognitive Brain Research Unit (2012) and Chair of the Cognitive Brain Laboratory (HiLIFE infrastructure platform, 2017). Her research focuses on cognitive neuroscience, language development, brain plasticity, autism spectrum disorders, and dyslexia.

She has supervised 14 completed doctoral theses and currently oversees 8 PhD candidates, alongside mentoring 8 post-doctoral researchers. Her scientific contributions include major grants exceeding €3.5 million since 2010, peer reviews for international funding agencies, and editorial roles in 50+ journals. Kujala has delivered 23 invited presentations at international congresses and served on 20+ conference committees.
