Dr. Tatiana Tkacukova (formerly Grieshofer) is a Professor (Reader in Language and Law) at Birmingham City University. Her research focuses on legal communication, socio-legal studies, and applied linguistics, addressing issues like legal-lay discourse, court digitization, and communication in legal proceedings. She has led interdisciplinary projects funded by EU Marie Curie, BA/Leverhulme, AHRC, and ESRC, emphasizing access to justice and societal impact. Her work bridges linguistics, law, and social sciences through mixed-method approaches, including corpus linguistics and ethnographic methods. Previously, she worked as a court-certified interpreter, TEFL/ESP instructor, and now contributes to professional workshops and advisory roles (e.g., JUSTICE). Her research aims to enhance legal systems' transparency and public legal education.
