Tasha Jarisz

Tasha Jarisz is a Lecturer in the Environmental Science program at Royal Roads University and a sessional instructor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Victoria (UVic). She completed her PhD in Chemistry at UVic in 2021, focusing on bacterial adhesion at surfaces using nonlinear optical spectroscopy, and holds a BSc in Chemistry with Honours (2015) and a LATHE certificate from UVic.

Her research bridges environmental chemistry and surface science, particularly bacterial interactions with surfaces. She is deeply engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning, having served as a research assistant on two SoTL grant projects and conducted teaching workshops. Her academic career includes leadership roles such as Director of Communications for UVic Women in Science.
