Michael Ballhorn

Prof. Dr. Michael Ballhorn is a Professor of Chemistry for Engineers with a focus on Organic and Analytical Chemistry at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences since 2015, within the Faculty of Engineering.

His educational background includes:

• Doctorate in Chemistry (2000), RWTH Aachen
• Diploma in Chemistry (1996), RWTH Aachen

His research interests span Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Adhesion Science, Surface Technology, Damage Analysis, and Adhesive Technology. His work bridges fundamental chemical principles with engineering applications, particularly in material bonding, failure analysis, and surface characterization for industrial contexts.
